Architectural Details

I'm not really one for landscapes, at least not in photography. I love the details -- the flower boxes, street signs, door handles, mailboxes, etc...

One of the things I appreciate most in Viterbo is that fact that they preserve original stonework and arches wherever possible. Even indoors.  There's nothing cooler to me than a plastered wall with a stone arch randomly uncovered in the middle of it.

I love the different colors on the walls...and the fact that there are various colors within the same area, due to wear and tear from the weather, uncovering the layers underneath.

The church/religion, entwined with everything, also leaves us with beautiful sights.

What does this one have to do with anything? I love their creative spirit! This clever person has turned socks, tights, gloves and cans into planters.

Not that I don't love the traditional ivy as well!

I must have a hundred different photos of mailboxes, doorknobs, and knockers.  I'm sure that will eventually be a separate post, but meanwhile...
