A Tribute to my Son

Some thought it was strange that I would post a "tribute to Max" and only have one picture of my son. Fine, so I'm not mother of the year. Here are a couple of photos of Max (not the name, but my son), just to prove that I'm open to feedback...

Max & Savannah the day SYA students arrived

Just goes to show, take a kid's toys away and he'll find new things to play with.

With dad, exploring San Pellegrino

Having his first ice cream from a gelateria practically under his bedroom window.

I'm noticing a junk-food theme....

Max wanted to make sure the umbrella would work under the fountain as well...

Attempting to eat the world's largest cone of gelato topped with whipped cream. Favorite flavors? Limone and fragola

And the biggest tribute I can pay to Max? We are truly proud of him for making this transition to life in Italy without much of a fuss. He was enthusiastic before he arrived and has largely maintained this positive attitude, despite the fact that all his toys, stuffed animals, friends, and "familiar things"  are back in the States. He's a curious boy who loves learning and discovering new things. On rare occasion I've heard him say, "I want to go back to Lincoln." But more often than not, I've heard him say that he loves Italy and wishes we could stay here longer. I can't wait until he's more comfortable with Italian, allowing him to integrate into the culture on a deeper level.
